Libretto is a word used commonly on Broadway that refers to the list or book of songs that are included in that particular musical. As their name states, this quartet creates musical arrangements of famous Broadway musicals' songs, and puts their own electric, modern twist on them. Also the whole name, Seasons of Librettos, was based on Rent's opening song, Seasons of Love. Not only does the name refer to the hit Broadway musical Rent, but also represents a season, or the plethora of musicals and musical numbers that the quartet represents. Some other Broadway musicals that the quartet, Seasons of Librettos represents are:
RENT, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MAMA MIA!, GREASE, LES MISERABLES, WICKED, DREAM GIRLS, AND SO MUCH MORE!!!

The members of the Seasons of Libretto quartet include:

Sarah Brightman- 1st Violin
Laura Bell Bundy- 2nd Violin
Tituss Burgess- Viola
Sean Palmer- Cello
*All the members of the quartet have had previous experience with Broadway musicals and haven taken that knowledge and applied it to their playing.
As far as the music, it is obvious that each Broadway play has a different style of music. The Seasons of Libretto quartet also applies that same quartet to its albums. The style of each song is different, according to the Broadway production it came from. Usually, the quartet uses electronic instrument. However, sometimes the quartet goes acoustic or natural for certain songs. Also, sometimes, a member may write an original arrangment that is inspired from a particular broadway play, but not exactly the same. An example of this would be the song Korobushka which is is very similar to Fiddler on the Roof's theme song. Below is another quartet playing Korobushka.
