THE COOKIE MONSTER CREW

The Group:

The Cookie Monster Crew was formed in the basement of some local bakery in London in 1975 and originally consisted of five musicians, a vocalist, a guitarist, drummer, a bassist, and a cookie. The band is credited for initially using the fusion of rap, easy listening, as well as the new sensation of "ingestion" sounds. Typically, these "ingestion" sounds consist of "Om nom nom nom nom" (said through a mouth full of food) with each song. There are currently only four musicians in the band due to an unfortunate accident involving one of its members. As a result of a lack of sugar in the bassist's bloodstream, lapsing in and out of consciousness, the bassist gobbled up the cookie.

The Music:

The group typically generates music that focuses on the fusion of rap, some easy listening, and more importantly the "ingestion" sounds. The Cookie Monster Crew has a range of influences including Run-DMC, Jay-Z, The Fresh Prince, Lil Wayne, T.I, Akon, Eminem, Andy William, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and Barry Manilow.
